Duluth, Georgia -

Duluth, Georgia based Atlanta Institute of Music and Media (AIMM) is pleased to announce that they will be hosting a virtual Open House event on June 4th, 2020 at 7:00pm. AIMM decided to hold a virtual Open House instead of the more conventional on-premises event they normally hold in order to work around the COVID-19 pandemic. The event is free to enter, and all are welcome to RSVP at their convenience.

The AIMM Virtual Open House will begin with a session on Tracking, which will have the institute’s instructors cover the following: Proper Vocal Miking Techniques as well as Recording a Bass Amp. At 8:00pm, AIMM will switch to Mixing & Mastering, in which they will cover the following topics: Creating Punchy Drums, Vocal Processing and Getting your track ready for Spotify and Apple Music Distribution.

Virtual Open House

According to the music academy, conducting an Open House event in this digital, streaming format potentially carries with it a great number of advantages. In addition to ensuring that all participants will be able to attend the event and still maintain social distancing, the internet offers a far greater number of participants the opportunity to see what AIMM has to offer for themselves.

“Where we were once limited by concerns regarding capacity and just how many prospective students we could see at any given time,” says the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media, “we can now showcase our unique combination of music and technology to a much wider audience. Given that we do not have to focus on working with guests in person at this point, we can also shift our focus exclusively to our online visitors and do them justice.” In practice, the academy hopes to generate a lively and open discussion regarding their strengths and the numerous advantages students have to gain by signing up for either their on-campus classes or their online degrees and other courses.

AIMM adds, “Hosting an Open House in person is a format that we are all quite comfortable with. Present circumstances may have obliged us to rethink our approach, but this ability to pivot is not new to us. The music industry evolves over time, and the ability to utilize new platforms effectively is crucial to not only surviving but thriving on them. We take the realities of modern music production into account during our lessons and impart a comprehensive understanding of the various strategies that need to be employed in our students.”

The Institute’s programs include an Online Certificate in Music and Technology with a Focus in Guitar or Bass; Music Production and Audio for Media Associate Degree; Music and Technology Associate Degree with a Focus in Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboard or Voice; and a Certificate in Music Production. Those who wish to learn more are welcome to contact AIMM’s representatives ahead of the Open House in order to acclimate themselves with the academy’s offerings.

Students at AIMM generally report an overwhelmingly positive experience pursuing the field of their choice. For instance, a 5-Star review from a Freshman on Niche shares that, “I absolutely love this school so far! This college has so much to offer for techniques and skills I am looking to learn. I moved all the way from the West Coast to attend the Atlanta Institute Of Music by myself. I recommend AIMM to anyone looking for further assistance and connections in the music industry. You definitely have to be dedicated because attendance is very important here. I am so excited to graduate in two years and leave with an internship.”

Another Freshman review on the same platform says, “It's really cool learning about music and how to make it in. The instructors help you along the way. I couldn't ask for a better school to go to, they are really hands-on with you.”

More information can be found on the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media website, and those interested are invited to RSVP to AIMM's Virtual Open House. AIMM can also be found on various social media platforms where they share updates on their classes as well as other information their students and other followers may find interesting.
