St. Louis, Missouri -
Brinton Vision of St. Louis has completed their See the Good LASIK giveaway, donating a no charge LASIK procedure to Melissa Kroenig. The See the Good in St. Louis LASIK Giveaway was an opportunity for Brinton Vision to give back to the St. Louis public and award an extra boost to a worthy participant who has done a great deal to help the community.
People were nominated by friends and family, and ultimately the nominations were narrowed down to 5 finalists who were evaluated in the clinic to confirm they were good candidates for surgery. From there, the community was able to vote for the winner based on their submitted profiles and life stories. The winner was set to receive a free corrective eye procedure, including any post-operative care.
Melissa Kroenig, the winner of the giveaway, has been wearing glasses since the age of 25. She describes how this has inhibited her at work with computers, her playtime with her children, and her desire to have an active lifestyle. On December 26th of 2020, Melissa’s house unfortunately caught fire. While her family and pets were unharmed, her home and its contents were severely damaged from both fire and smoke. However, with support from friends and family, she maintained her positive outlook on life.
Melissa was nominated for the See the Good LASIK giveaway by her boss, Lauren, who is also a good friend helping her through this tough time. Melissa wants to thank Lauren for being so supportive during this time, and for the nomination. Melissa states that she is “most excited about the freedom to not have glasses; to be active, play sports, play with my kids, and wear sunglasses”.
Brinton Vision is thankful to be in a position to give Melissa visual freedom and help in this way. To learn more about Brinton Vision, the See the Good LASIK Giveaway, and Melissa’s story, visit Brinton Vision’s website or Facebook page where they have posted all the Giveaway finalists’ stories.
