Cerritos, California -
Insta Graphic Systems, a company based in Cerritos, CA, is proud to announce that their Insta 780 Dual Shuttle, fully automatic heat press, has won the Pinnacle Product of the Year award. The Pinnacle Product Awards are given to recognize the development of technologies that are expected to have significant impact on printing or related industries, with outstanding contributions in capability, quality, and productivity. Each entry for the Pinnacle Product Awards were reviewed and scored by an independent panel of judges that were composed of industry experts. All of the judges were able to show their expertise in assessing products, industry technology, and output capabilities.
To be eligible as an entry for the Pinnacle Product Awards, the product has to be available for sale in the marketplace and must fit into one of the published competition categories. It is important to note that they want to emphasize newer products, which is why products that have been in the market for more than three years got a deduction from the judges’ score.
The Insta 780 Dual Shuttle Heat Press features dual quick-change 16” x 20” platens to boost productivity and decrease labor costs. Its key features include dual quick-change platens, robust frame, advanced touch screen technology, smooth and quiet operation, and flexible and user-friendly operations with three operational modes. There is also an optional foot pedal control if desired.
The Insta 780 can be operated in manual, semi-automatic, or fully-automatic mode. It features Insta’s well-known even heat and pressure distribution across the platen. The machine also has the ability to perform simultaneous displays on the digital controller with multiple presets. Overall, The 780 is a flexible and user-friendly machine to operate. Insta offers a one year warranty for parts, 90-day warranty for labor, and 10 years warranty for the upper heating elements.
The user-friendly touch screen of the Insta 780 has pre-set menus with adaptive regulation parameters based on the job. These menus are: flex, sublimation on rigid substrates, sublimation on textiles, and DTG transfers. It is possible to save up to five programs. It has a double timer for main and "pre-heat with independent time" is provided for each plate. It also features cycle counters and a stop cycle function, ranging from 0 to 600 sec, and operates at up to 430 degrees Fahrenheit and 110 PSI.
Available accessories are the sponge plate for drying pretreated clothes, a set of four quick platens that are helpful for precision jobs, and a heat resistant Teflon cover for protecting the lower plate and to make threading easier.
Founded in 1959, Insta Graphic Systems was purchased in 1969 by Herbert A. Wells, a former chemist for the product that is now known as Elmer’s Glue. Wells then contributed to the development of the first plastisol heat transfer that offered easy application and a soft to the touch feel, which were features not previously available with heat transfer. The company’s growth rose dramatically in the early 1970s when the decorated T-shirt market boomed. Taking advantage of this, the company licensed some of the most popular cartoon characters at that time, such as Tom & Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, and The Wizard of Oz. The company’s popularity was further helped by the success of its international license for ET. Because of its high quality and innovative heat transfers, the popularity of the company and its products increased significantly throughout the world. Currently, Herbert Wells’ daughter, Janet Wells is the President of Insta Graphic Systems. She started working for Insta Graphic Systems after graduating from UCLA. Being fluent in various languages, she helped translate correspondence from other countries and she contributed to the company’s expansion in the global market. She had contributed significantly to the company’s exponential growth in the international market with the company now selling to more than 125 countries.
