Artist Bartosz Beda will be holding a solo exhibition hosted by the Art Gallery at Collin College beginning September 29, 2023. A reception will be held from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Oct. 24. 4-7 pm. The art exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. The gallery is located on Collin College's Plano Campus, Room A175, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The collection is titled "Echoes of Seasons" and features large scale paintings incorporating the symbolic framework of the four seasons thematically exploring the human experience. This latest collection features stunning, vivid colors in Beda's iconic obfuscated and beautifully distorted style. “Echoes of Seasons is a harmonious blend of abstraction and figuration, a union where neither dominates the painting. In this exploration of the human experience hidden under layers of metaphorical Freud cake, the paintings serve as windows into the complex seasons of migration of human nature,” Bartosz Beda, featured solo artist, said.

The decision on the type and size of artworks evolved organically as Bartosz Beda featured five large-scale paintings, each measuring roughly 5x8 feet and 8x8 feet. These massive canvases are balanced to dominate the gallery walls, filling them with a compelling visual narrative and providing spacious room for his artistic vision to breathe and flourish.

In addition to the monumental pieces, Beda has curated a collection of smaller canvases, carefully chosen to create a thought-provoking contrast to the brilliance of the larger works.

Smaller artworks offer viewers an intellectual puzzle, serving as a captivating counterpoint to the theme of the larger canvases.

The juxtaposition of large and small-scale paintings within the exhibition space allows for a dynamic exploration of artistic contrasts. It's a deliberate choice that invites viewers to immerse themselves in a world where size, scale, and perspective play a pivotal role in storytelling.

The gallery is located on Collin College's Plano Campus, Room A175, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Friday.

Visitors are also encouraged to join faculty, staff, and students for an Artist Talk in the gallery from Noon-12:45 p.m. on Oct. 10 to hear Gallery Director Anna Fritzel interview Beda about his recent artwork.
