Anaheim Lighthouse Supports Golf Tournament For A Cause in Orange County

Anaheim, California - Anaheim Lighthouse, a drug and alcohol treatment facility in Orange County, California took part in the Canyon Club 5th Annual Golf Tournament on September 10, 2021 at Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita. The golf tournament for a cause was organized by the Canyon Club of Laguna Beach to support the recovery and rehabilitation of alcoholics and their families.

Anaheim Lighthouse sponsored the golf tournament and also encouraged participation from its staff and alumni. Peter Davidson, President of the Lighthouse, shared that participating in this event benefits the recovery community in so many ways.

“We were very excited to take part in this gold tournament. Through the sponsorship of Anaheim Lighthouse, we hope that in our small way, we can help the Canyon Club provide further assistance to people in recovery. At the same time, golf is an amazing activity for our alumni members to engage with the community in an active and sober event,” said Davidson.

Lighthouse alumni who participated in the event were grateful for the opportunity to participate in the golf tournament. Jezzie A., a member of the Lighthouse Alumni Program, said that playing golf alcohol-free was a freeing experience.

“It was so lovely being able to do something sober that I used to do while intoxicated. I can't wait to bring my friends with me to golf alcohol-free to show them that we can still have fun doing the things we love! I had such awesome teammates and we worked together as a team. We supported each other the entire time. I felt the love and I can't wait to do it again! Thank you, Lighthouse, for this amazing opportunity to do this. It's really what I needed,” said Jezzie A.

Another member of the alumni program Mitchell E. shared that taking part in the tournament reminded her that it is possible to enjoy and have fun while staying sober.

“I really enjoyed being able to work as a team and have clean and sober fun. It reminded me of how great life can be if I stay sober,” said Mitchell E.
