New and expanded flight connections from North America and Europe are creating more options for travelers visiting Morocco this autumn for desert tours and multi-city cultural itineraries

According to published National Tourist Office arrival figures, the North American market has recorded the strongest growth rate among long-haul source markets since 2022, with United States arrivals rising approximately 35 percent in 2024 compared with the previous year.

September and October daytime temperatures in Marrakech average 28 to 32 degrees Celsius, compared to peak summer highs above 40 degrees, creating conditions that travel professionals consider well-suited for extended outdoor itineraries. In the Sahara Desert, overnight camping in the Erg Chebbi dunes becomes more comfortable during these months, and Atlas Mountains trekking routes are accessible without the extreme heat of July and August. Hotel occupancy data from the Ministry of Tourism indicates that fall shoulder-season bookings have trended upward over the past three years, reflecting broader interest in Morocco's autumn travel window.

Said noted that the expanded flight network makes it easier to design routes that begin and end at different airports, reducing travel time between regions.

The high-speed Al Boraq rail network, which connects Tangier to Casablanca in approximately two hours, and recent highway expansions have improved access between Morocco's major tourism regions. The Ministry of Equipment and Transport has reported that highway projects completed in 2025 have reduced driving times on several key corridors, including the route linking Marrakech to the Atlantic coastal towns. These infrastructure improvements, combined with the additional fall flight capacity, have made it practical for travelers to cover southern desert routes, central mountain regions, and northern imperial cities within a single trip of approximately one week.

Travelers can arrive through Casablanca or Marrakech and depart from a different city, covering more ground without backtracking, he said.
