Future Legends Collide: May Pac Finally Materializes.

Not only is the Floyd Mayweather – Manny Pacquiao fight going down in history for breaking multiple records, it’s also making history as one of three epic fights of all time, getting listed among the Ali-Frazier fight of 1971 and the Lewis-Schmeling rematch in 1938. 

Rightly so, with Mayweather defending an undefeated 47-0 record, with 26 knock outs, Pacquiao is going to have to fight hard, despite his 57-5-2 record and 38 knock outs. Mayweather fights orthodox while the Pacman uses southpaw. The former is more calculating in his punches, with less punches thrown but also less misses, while the latter packs a powerful punch. Mayweather’s tight defense is also going to keep Pacquiao on his toes and use his unexpected jabs to the fullest advantage to catch the American fighter unguarded. 

The best boxers in the world sat down to talk about the Fight of the Century withboxing Legend George Foreman anticipating a win for the Pacman. Other stars who support the two champs are Justin Bieber, 50 Cent, David Hasselhoff for Money Mayweather. Pacquiao has got LA Lakers guard Jeremy Lin in his camp, along with NBA Most Valuable player Stephen Curry, and UFC Champ Ronda Rousey. Not to mention fellow boxing greats Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, celebrities Mark Wahlberg and NBA great Kobe Bryant. This said, even celebs aren’t spared from scrambling for a ringside ticket. These bigs won’t be able to get a seat unless they get one from a sponsor, whose products they need to promote for the night. It’s no wonder, as President of HBO Sports tells Heavy, “Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather have been the two most prominent fighters in the sport of boxing for the past decade, and fight fans around the world have been clamoring for them to face each other.”

The fight has been one long drawn out one – spanning half a decade. Mayweather Productions and Top Rank Productions failed to come to an agreement with regards to the fight. That is until, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao unintentionally crossed paths at an NBA fight in January of 2015. The unexpected meeting gave way to more concrete discussions on fight night details. The most anticipated fight of the century was finally announced in February, but not without any hurdles. A week or so from fight night, Top Rank executive Bob Arum tells the media that a contract has yet to be signed, and blamed delays on The Money Team. The fight is so epic that tickets released to the public was gone and sold out in about a minute and total expected revenue for the fight will reach about USD $400 million.
