Doll Collectors of North Park (DCNP), which is a club in San Diego, CA, has announced that they have recently held their last meeting of the summer. At this meeting, incoming officers seceded outgoing officers. Additionally, it was an opportunity to provide members with any special awards or recognition for their contributions to the club. Stephanie Beck from DCNP says: "Our club has had its final official club meeting before taking a break for the summer. We held it over brunch, and 18 members attended and witnessed the secession of officers. It was a very well attended meeting in which we also had the opportunity to give special recognition to some of our members."
Special recognition was given to Denise Perkins and to Stephanie Beck. They have both served for four consecutive years in the DCNP as President and Vice President, respectively. The club's bylaws state that officers can only serve one two year term. However, in 2014, a unanimous vote decided that an exception would be made to this rule, enabling Denise and Stephanie to serve an additional term.
Marilyn Mehr, who acts as Treasurer, was also honored for her dedication and over 10 years of service as Club Treasurer. Furthermore, it was agreed that Kathy Hilliard would be the incoming President. She has been a member of the club for over a decade. Stephanie was seceded as Vice President by Donna DiMaccio. Donna had served as Vice President of the doll collecting club six years ago.
It was decided that the next official club meeting will be held on September 17, 2016. A few select members will be getting together for the 'travel doll club' over the summer.
