Commercial Roofing Team, a company based in Fort Worth, TX, has announced that it is offering a new high speed roofing response service. This is not the first time Texas has been hit by serious hail stones. Indeed, in 1995, the Mayfest Storm caused $1.1 billion in damage. Then, in 2000, 19 year old Juan Oseguera was hit in the head by a hail stone and died. He is, to date, the last person to have died of a hail stone. In 2006, two days of storms damaged some 10,000 vehicles and 7,000 properties, valued at around $160 million. Finally, in June 2012, hail storms caused around $900 million worth of damage.
"Texas has had its fair share of storms," adds Kevin Doskocil. "At the same time, however, it seems that we collectively think that the last storm will also be the very last storm. Then, when we are proven wrong and another storm hits, we aren't ready. This is where Commercial Roofing Team is different. We will not be trapped by complacency and instead always have a rapid response team ready to help property owners deal with the damage to their homes."
Hail is formed in stormy conditions. It is particularly common when tornadoes are forming, which is why they are suddenly starting to appear across Texas. This has also increased the number of storm chasers coming to Texas, although new laws and rules now prevent them from claiming on their insurance if a hail storm causes any damage to their vehicle. Regardless of why these storms happen, however, the reality is that they are dangerous and incredibly damaging, and it seems that the size of hail stones is growing all the time.
