On June 16, 2016, 1st Family Dental, a dental practice in Chicago, IL, presented a check for $50,000 to St. Jude Children's Memorial Hospital. The fundraising was started in August 2015, and the goal was reached by October.
Vicky Khawaja from 1st Family Dental says: "When we set ourselves the challenge of raising $50,000 for the St. Jude Children's Hospital, we never expected to reach it so quickly. It is a true testament to our patients and to the community members that it was reached that fast, and presenting the check to the hospital was a truly moving moment."
The check was presented at the clinic's flagship Andersonville dental office in Chicago. This is one of the locations where the dental practice operates, with other addresses being listed on http://1stfamilydental.com/locations/. The ceremony was attended by a number of representatives from the children's hospital, as well as from 1st Family Dental. It also provided an opportunity for the dental practice to reaffirm its commitment to supporting the hospital and continuing their partnership.
When 1st Family Dental launched the campaign to raise money for St. Jude Children's Memorial Hospital, they were featured in the hospital members newsletter. Additionally, the practice's marketing director was invited to attend the St. Jude's Annual Fashion Show on November 1st.
"We really want to thank our staff and dental professionals for helping us reach our goal," adds Vicky Khawaja. "Most of all, we want to thank all the people who donated and who found room in their hearts to support this important cause. More work remains to be done, of course, if we are to help in the treatment of childhood disease. While this part of our fundraiser is now over, we will continue our partnership with St. Jude and we will make announcements on further efforts in the very near future."
