Protectimus Launches New One-time Password Service As Alternative To The Two Factor Authentication Provider

June 09, 2015 - PRESSADVANTAGE -

Protectimus Solution LLP chief of R&D, Denis Shokotko, has announced that a new feature of Protectimus’ One-Time Password service is now available. It is called “Confirm What You See” or simply CWYS and was launched as an additional feature where certain situations may demand even stronger authentication practices for improved security compared to standard OTP. As Denis explains, "with the help of Protectimus Smart, which can be considered as a CWYS-tool, user can generate OTP, based on context-related information, such as transaction data, time, geo-location, etc. This allows user to be secured against hacker tricks with data manipulation during payment processing, because user’s OTP is based on real data and will not match with hackers’ compromised one".

He states that the new service offers its users all of the same standard authentication algorithms previously tested in the field of multi-factor authentication, including HOTP, TOTP, and OCRA, but adds these new features in tools, and in the approach, can offer an additional layer of protection.

Protectimus’ team believes that there are many advantages for those who choose to make use of the trusted Protectimus Service. Aside from the fact that the new system will be easier to integrate into an existing service, there are also substantial cost savings for their customers to enjoy.

Denis says that the service is extremely friendly and affordable to the customer “We provide clients with $25 just after they complete registration form to let them try all aspects of our solution”. These trial period can be even extended, he noticed. If we talk about Protectimus Smart token - you can download and use it absolutely free.  Those users considering the new OTP service will be able to ease their concerns about the possibility of difficulties and complications as a result. He adds that with the company's support of OATH Standards, there are even additional advantages that users will be able to benefit from. The fact that the new system has been tested in real market conditions can be an assurance to their clients that they are getting the extra protection they seek.

Clients will  have the potential to have their new OTP contract customized to meet individual customer's needs when they start the service. This would allow them to select only the functions they actually need, making it more efficient and practical. Customers won't have to pay for a package that contains features that they won't be using or may never need.

The software, he points out, is easy to use. Once a business establishes a registered account, they only need to complete the intuitive set-up process, download an existing library for the programming language, and integrate Protectimus into their system through the API and they are all set up. They also provide free integration support and consultations in authentication field if these services are required by the customer.

He concludes by suggesting that while many people may be discussing the advantages of this new system, anyone interested should seriously consider trying it out and experiencing its benefits first hand. This will allow potential clients to make a more accurate decision than simply based on what they've heard. He feels confident enough in their product that the company is offering a trial period where clients can "benefit from securing user accounts from unauthorized access in a better way and test all the system's features and functions for free, before making a decision”.
