It was recently announced that the AmeriHealth 65 HMO plan would be dropped in 2017 for seniors in New Jersey. This means that many seniors that were enrolled in this plan will be enrolled in Original Medicare come January 1st, 2017 if they do not elect a new plan before the end of the Annual Enrollment period.
This can be a problem as many seniors will lose specific coverage for prescription drugs among other lost benefits.
In order to help seniors navigate this process, BGA Insurance Group in Pennsauken, New Jersey, has added additional Medicare seminars to their current schedule. These meetings are designed to help seniors understand the Medicare Enrollment process at no cost or obligation.

The announcement was officially made earlier this month on the BGA Insurance Group website.
This news can lead to a potential health insurance crisis as the elderly can be left with a suboptimal insurance plan that does not fit their current needs. The final date to enroll in a new plan is December 7th, 2016.
