Altamira Fine Art Scottsdale offers news of an upcoming two-man show featuring artists David Grossman and Travis Walker. Their work is set to be honored beginning November 28, 2016, at the Scottsdale gallery location.
Scottsdale AZ: Altamira Fine Art is pleased to announce the scheduled showing of works by David Grossmann and Travis Walker at the Scottsdale gallery site. Their two-man show will open November 28, with the artists' reception scheduled for Thursday, December 8 from 6:30-9:30 pm in conjunction with the annual Holiday ArtWalk on Main Street. The exhibition is the first in Scottsdale for Walker and the third Arizona exhibition for Grossmann. The show is titled “Nuevas Visiones” and celebrates the fresh perspectives of the two young artists.
Both artists are receiving recognition for distinctive painting styles, although they each use the landscape as a basis for inspiration. Both artists are recipients of media coverage and recent awards. Grossman calls Colorado home, and his education includes study at the Colorado Academy of Art in Boulder. Walker lives in Jackson, Wyoming and has studied at Virginia Commonwealth University and the Tyler School of Art.
The portfolio of Grossman is recognized throughout the United States and Europe. He is the recipient of Artists Choice Award and the Southwest Art Award of Excellence at the Coors Western Art Exhibit and Sale. His work appeared in various publications, including Southwest Art, American Art Collector, Plein Air Magazine and the Royal Academy Magazine.
Walker's work has appeared in a range of publications, including Jackson Hole Magazine, Forbes, Mountain Living, Images West, The Guardian, Southwest Art and others. He uses color, contrast, and design to depict urban and rural scenes. In addition to his work as an artist, Travis founded Teton Artlab, an artist residency program located in the Greater Yellowstone area. The 2016 Images West Magazine recently features his work on the cover and included a piece about the artist.
The website features images from the upcoming exhibition as well as information about shows which are scheduled for 2017 dates. The public is invited to visit the exhibition as well as the Holiday ArtWalk.
