November 21, 2016 - PRESSADVANTAGE -
A Silicon Valley based start-up announced the first home featured on their new website focusing on custom log homes for sale in America. The home was built by the owner himself using trees from the property and is an incredible value as the replacement value alone is twice the selling price.

Situated on 40 park-like acres, 7956 W. County Road, 75 South, is a short distance from Greencastle, Indiana - home to DePauw University. The home’s limestone fireplace using stone from a local quarry soars over 40 feet and took two full years to build. The barn was built from poplar trees standing where the barn resides now and the barn’s workshop is where the entire house was planed, sawed, and milled. All the wood in the house was dried in a solar kiln on site.
From the sassafras window and door trims to the cherry cabinets in the kitchen and master bath, the residence resonates with accents. Even a walnut tree blown down by a storm was used in the upstairs second bath. The tongue and groove ceilings are beech and poplar and the lower siding boards on the exterior are locust which repels water and is insect resistant.
