Morph Pillow, an Orem, UT company specializing in travel pillows and accessories has published a helpful article on the top 10 tips for travelers to follow on long international flights.

The article, which was published on their blog at morphpillow.com lists useful information for travelers to help them manage their comfort while in flight and to increase their chances of arriving at their destination somewhat refreshed.

Morph Pillow founder, Brian Parker, says that his company was built around making travelers and others get refreshed with sleep for long periods or short bursts. The article is mainly for long trips but many of the suggestions can be used for any plane flight.

Morph Pillow’s best selling travel pillow is currently available exclusively on Amazon and Parker points out that while a good pillow is essential component to comfort during travel, there are several other factors to consider as well. According to Parker. “People actually remember their accessories when packing for a long trip, but often forget to do the physical things while on the plane that make the experience healthier and more enjoyable.” He points out that hydration and short walks are two of the most important things a flyer can do while in flight. The cabin of a plane is extremely dry and dehydration can lead to headaches, body aches and fatigue.

For long flights, a person’s internal clock can get confused by our inability to see sunsets and sunrises as well as the time changes as we cross time lines locally and internationally. Parker stated, “Knowing when to sleep and when to try to stay awake is an essential when traveling on long flights.” He recommends taking redeye flights going eastbound when one is going to be on board 10 hours or more. This tricks the body into thinking that this night time’s sleep is normal even if when you wake up you are 6000 miles away and have lost a whole day in time change.

Travel gear recommended by experts include a comfortable travel pillow, compression socks, ear plugs and eye masks. For more information on the Morph travel pillow, click here.
