Mentor Leadership Public Speaker Life Coach Visits Jail Inmates

The Mind Investor, a business operating from Queens, NY is promoting True Potential Toastmasters in an unusual way. Quentin Mezetin, from The Mind Investor, will be joining Darren S. Greif, who is also a Toastmaster, and they will be visiting jail. Their goal is to inspire inmates to improve their lives and increase their chances of rehabilitation.

"I found out about Toastmasters from my mentor Les Brown", says Quentin Mezetin from The Mind Investor. "I then joined Emerging Speakers of Elmont, followed by True Potential Toastmasters. Taking my first step was surprisingly easy and expanding my mind simply flowed from there. I want to give this opportunity to the rest of the world."

During his personal period of growth, Quentin Mezetin won a number of awards both within Emerging Speakers of Elmont and True Potential Toastmasters, as well as outside of these groups. He was published in New York Newsday as he entered a humorous contest. During this time, however, he experienced the beginning of greatness and his knowledge and experience, gained thanks to and through Toastmasters, earned him the name of "The Mind Investor".

"The Mind Investor is what I believe is my own personal development defined to the 10 power", adds Quentin Mezetin. "I became a full time entrepreneur speaking at various high schools (Northeastern academy in Brooklyn NY, and campus magnet HS in Jamaica queens) to influence the younger generation. Now, I feel it is time to take this a step further by going to prison."

Statistics show the stark reality of the current prison system. 50% of current prisoners are not rehabilitated and will return to prison within a year of their release. However, statistics also show that out of the prisoners who join Toastmasters, only 3% return to prison. This is a very significant number and shows just why Mezetin and Greif feel that going to The Metropolitan Correctional Center at 150 Park Row, New York, NY is going to be so beneficial. Inspiring and motivating inmates could just be the beginning of greatness for them.

Toastmasters International is a global leader in leadership development and communication. They have around 313,000 members at present and this number is growing. Clubs exist in 126 countries around the world, offering 14,650 locations where members can go to in order to improve their leadership and public speaking skills. The mission is to empower individuals to take their first step towards greatness, helping them to become effective communicators and leaders throughout the process. This is also achieved by strong community support.

For Mezetin, those who require the most help to become the leaders and motivators of tomorrow are the young and the disenfranchised. He feels he has taken steps to reach the young by speaking publicly in schools. Now, he wants to target the disenfranchised by working with incarcerated individuals and helping them to become better people themselves. In so doing, they can become not just contributing members of society on release, but actual leaders themselves.

Mezetin and Grief's next visit will be June 10, 2015. They look forward to empowering, enlightening, and in time possibly lowering that statistic.
