Toronto, Canada – Finland 100 Toronto is proud to present Finland 100 celebrations on the theme “Together” concurrently with Canada 150 celebrations on the themes “Diversity, Reconciliation with indigenous peoples, the Environment and Youth”. Finland 100 Toronto believes that Together in Diversity is a continued strength of the Canadian lived experience.
“The 2017 celebrations are our chance to reaffirm our social contract – rooted in our two official languages, our attachment to pluralism as well as our continued efforts towards reconciliation with indigenous peoples,” said Pierre- Oliver Herbert, spokesman for Canadian Heritage Minister Mélanie Joly.
Finland 100 Toronto is a non-profit volunteer led organization that is organizing a variety of celebrations in the Greater Toronto Area to celebrate 100 years of Finland’s independence.
The organization is an official partner of worldwide Suomi Finland 100 celebrations that will see 15,000 events being organized in 70 countries during 2017 http://suomifinland100.fi.
