10% Of Samtana Organic Clothing Sales Will Go To Charity

Samtana, a social enterprise based in Bangalore, India, aims to do good in the world by donating a percentage of its sales to charity. The company sells stylish organic clothing, which includes casual t-shirts, printed t-shirts, dresses and tank tops.

As a social business, they donate 10% of their sales to charities that address three important issues in India: poverty, hunger, and education.

There are several charities doing inspiring work in their field of interest but they are not able to sustain themselves due to a lack of funding and support. By teaming up with them, Samtana will bring in the necessary funds and much needed awareness for these charities.

Samtana will narrate each one’s story through videos, photos and interviews through their blog. The hope is that this content will validate the remarkable work done by these charities and ultimately encourage more people to get involved with them.

Bharath Madhiraju adds: "Our first campaign as part of ‘The True-Blue Project’ was hugely successful. We raised ₹15,030 for The Akshaya Patra Foundation in under 3 days! The NGO provides free mid-day meals to children in government and government aided schools. We will continue to work with different charities, supporting important causes. We believe we can collectively – our customers and Samtana, can make a true difference in combating issues of poverty, hunger, and education in our country."
