Rosemary Parker, who is a children's fiction author, has announced that she is relaunching her first book, Homer's Big Adventure. Currently, her book is for sale through the Xlibris bookstore and is available in hard or soft cover.
The book Homer's Big Adventure which has already been out for 2 years, has gradually begun to gain popularity, especially with those seeking books about bears. Because of the positive feedback Rosemary has received on Homer's Big Adventure, she felt it was time to make a bigger splash so that more children could enjoy the loving character, Homer the wooden bear, in her book. Homer's Big Adventure was a joint collaboration between the author, Rosemary Parker, and illustrator, Kevin Wood.
Currently, the case bound hardcover is selling at $31.99, and the perfect bound softcover retails at $21.99. The author urges all customers to leave a review of her book once they are finished reading it, as this will help her greatly once she releases more stories for children in the future.
Rosemary Parker said that there is actually an interesting story behind the creation of Homer's Big Adventure. She said,
"Homer's Big Adventure" started out as a device to help promote sleep. I usually spend two or three nights a week lying awake in the early morning hours listening to the sounds outside our home. Many a night I have heard the soft "woo-woo" of the great horned owl living in the woods behind us...We also have quite a bit of wildlife here...Our garden consists of several pots of shrubs and flowering plants, all placed in front of our wooden gazebo. Rosemary added that it was during a particularly windy night where she began to fantasize about what might happen to Homer if the wind became strong enough to blow him out of her garden. During those nights when she was not able to sleep well, she would begin to add to her story, and then one day, she turned this fantasy into a reality by finally writing it all down on her computer.
She said that it was only much later that she decided to finally publish her book, and because she had no experience in publishing, Homer's big adventure was more of a trial. Now that the trial is over, Rosemary feels that she has gained a lot of experience during the couple of years that her book has been on the market, and felt it was time to push it to the next level.
Homer's big adventure is a story about a wooden bear called Homer that gets blown away by the wind from his yard. It is during this time where he will need all the help he can get from his animal friends to find his way back home. The author feels that her book is an excellent source to help children explore the power of friendship and receiving a helping hand. It also engraves the importance of having a home.
