San Diego, California - FunGig creator Steve Young started his exciting new business as a way to connect people who can share fun things to do in San Diego. As the company continues to grow, he talked about the future of FunGig and where he sees the company headed.
For now FunGig is focusing on a single market and showcasing things to do in San Diego today. Every marketplace needs sellers and the first goal is rounding up people with worthwhile, shareable experiences that they can post on FunGig. Mr. Young sees FunGig as an app that can eventually connect people anywhere in the world with something fun to do. People in India, France, or anywhere else will be able to open the FunGig app and find nearby FunGigs with in-the-know locals that are available at the right time and within their budget.
Recently, Mr. Young discovered that AirBnB is trying out a similar idea called AirBnB experiences. Although this could set up a possible David versus Goliath situation with FunGig competing against a massive company, Mr. Young is encouraged that such a large company sees value in giving an idea similar to his a shot.
The future looks bright for FunGig as it could extend beyond San Diego, offering ways to connect with cool people and fun stuff right in the palm of their hand.
