Creedence Clearwater Revival was a popular band in the 1960s. The band broke up early in the 1970s and recently a fan website was launched to share the history, music, video and artwork of the band.
A spokesperson for the new website says, "We wanted to remind people of why CCR was such a beloved band. Their music left an impression on many and lives on in the hearts of their true fans."
Former band members John and Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford no longer perform together but the music that the band created decades ago are still popular in many venues. The band held major concerts from 1968 until 1972, just shortly before they disassembled.
Tom Fogerty, brother of band member John Fogerty, performed until his death in 1990 at just 48 years old. The band enjoyed many hits, some of the most popular being "Fortune Son" and "Brown Eyed Girl."
"The website is designed to showcase their music," says the spokesperson for the site. "It showcases their lives, as well. We have pages devoted to each of the four band members, telling of their history before the band, where and when they were born, anything that they did solo after the band broke up and their most popular written songs for Creedence Clearwater Revival."
The site states that overall, it is dedicated to fans of the band who want to learn more about their music and their lives throughout the band's popularity as well as before and after. A discography page outlines all of their releases, including the dates that these were released. There is also a page for tribute bands and information about other bands that each member may have played or sang in over the course of their careers.
"We want to invite all CCR fans to visit us," says the site spokesperson. "If you loved the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival and you want to learn more about your favorite band member, this site is for you."
