In Irvine, California there was a major pipe burst the other day in one of the hotels near the airport.
Flooding eight floors in a beautiful hotel, this was the worst case scenario. A Nightmare for any business, especially when it makes the 11:00 o'clock news.
And that's exactly what transpired the other day. Plumbing issues resulted in a ruptured pipe, resulting in the emergency crew being dispatched and holding up traffic near the John Wayne Airport in the lovely city of Irvine. Police cars and fire trucks pulling up and blocking the street.
West Coast Restoration could hardly get through the traffic jam to assist the hotel when they got the emergency flood call. The crew showed up within minutes and what a relief to see that there weren't that many guests inside.
The emergency happened in the middle of the week which was a big help. With water raining in from the ceiling in lower levels and soaked carpet in the long hallways made their job somewhat complicated. Plumbers and restoration people were removing carpet, pulling out tiles in the ceiling and frantic guests were trying to quickly move out of the way.
West Coast Restoration quickly got the ball rolling as soon as they got to the scene. Working along with hotel staff, plumbers and maintenance crew they quickly took action.
There was drenched luggage, soaked carpeting, wet flooring and half eaten food in the hallways. After a few hours, the traffic around the hotel and John Wayne airport cleared up. West Coast Restoration guys spent the day on clean-up, dry out, mitigation and furniture moving to an empty storage facility. Their prominent equipment looked like snails and refrigerators painted bright blue but were actually called dehumidifiers and air movers.
Everything was back to normal after a few days of drying and some demolition work performed. Great to have West Coast Restoration of Irvine, good plumbers and firefighters for saving the day.
