Boise, Idaho-based Boise Transmission Repair has announced that their shop is now offering transmission repair for Mercedes Benz model cars. Representatives from the repair shop say that Boise Transmission Repair is a more cost-effective service than going to the dealership to get their car fixed.
A spokesperson for Boise Transmission Repair said, "Making sure your transmission is working properly is a concern for many car owners, not just those with Mercedes Benz models. If something goes wrong, you want to call an expert who will give you a fair price and properly fix your car. If you find your car going into 'limp mode', you might be able to temporarily fix it, but there may be underlying issues that we can find."
Limp mode in certain models of Mercedes Benz cars occurs when the car's internal computer detects a problem inside the car. When something happens, the "check engine" light will come on, indicating that there is a serious mechanical issue such as the sensors, computer modules, or transmission is having problems. The car itself may show problems such as the vehicle jumping to a particular gear and staying there, or dragging at slow speeds despite enough gas in the tank. In many models, if the transmission has caused the car to be too dangerous, the internal computer in the car will shift into second or third gear and stay there in order to shift into survival mode. The car is still drivable, but is severely restricted until it is repaired.
"Once your driving is restricted in limp mode, bring it to us right away," says the spokesperson. "While it's still drivable, it's certainly not as safe for you or other drivers on the road. When you're having gearbox problems, come see us."
One of the most common problems that can cause a Mercedes Benz to go into limp mode is a faulty neutral safety switch. The safety switch is designed to prevent the car from starting when the clutch is not depressed while the car is in neutral. Without the switch, the car would be able to start in any gear, causing it to launch forward or backward, which can be dangerous.
The spokesperson says, "If you are finding that your engine is cranking, that could a sign that you need to get your car looked at right away. The car could even be parked and in neutral, and the engine could still crank because of a faulty switch. There are a number of component issues that could be causing the problem. We service all makes and models of Mercedes Benz from the years 1951 all the way up to 2019 models. We even service Sprinter transport vans."
The shop, a family-owned and -operated transmission repair Boise drivers have been relying on for over 30 years, Boise Transmission Repair services all makes and models of cars, SUVs, trucks, RVs, as well as boats and ATVs. The owners and staff believe in putting the customer first, and offer an honest, no-hassle and no-obligation estimate and quote on all vehicles. They offer a written warranty on every job and give every customer a free electronic scan and road test. "Most mechanics will throw out a quote without even looking at the vehicle," adds the spokesperson. "It's ridiculous that anyone would even think of paying for fixes from someone who hasn't even taken a look at the car. We will give you any information you might need to make a better educated decision about your options."
Boise Transmission Repair also specialized in racing modifications for a number of different vehicles. "We get a lot of racers at our shop, from drag racers to those shooting for speed records on the Bonneville Salt Flats," says the spokesperson. "A lot of the time, there's some kind of problem with the clutch because so much power has been added to the engine. We're experts at fixing these problems without the need for expensive body or pump modifications to the vehicle. We can build your transmission and ship it anywhere on the planet."
The experience of Boise Transmission Repair has created a number of satisfied customers. On Google Maps, Rob M. said: "After multiple mechanics and lots of wasted time and money, these guys were able to pinpoint and fix the issue I was having. Such experts."
