Manhattan Beach, California (Press Advantage) January 19, 2019: The Cancer Journeys Foundation announces they have released a mobile-friendly version of its award-nominated Prostate Cancer early detection system, ProstateTracker.
All men are at risk for prostate cancer and 1 in every 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. Common estimates suggest that early-onset prostate cancer comprises roughly 10% of all prostate cancer occurrences and the number of cases of early-onset prostate cancer is increasing and has increased roughly six-fold since 1986.
The new mobile interface lets men track their prostate cancer risk at any time. Combatting apathy about prostate health and helping men to survive this deadly disease is a key goal of the Cancer Journeys Foundation, a registered 501 c3 charity based in Manhattan Beach, CA.
“In a digital world,” Hess explains, “it doesn’t make sense not to have access wherever you have Internet access.” The mobile interface to ProstateTracker allows the user to enter diagnostic data and test dates and see their prostate cancer risk immediately in an easy-to-understand visual chart. “It’s a visual world and prostate cancer is invisible until it’s sometimes too late. When the user can see the change in their PSA test results, the cancer can’t hide.”
To use ProstateTracker for early detection, users simply log on to https://www.prostatetracker.cancerjourneysfoundation.org and enter any relevant data PSA data they have. The service is free and available either on a desktop or mobile device. To Hess, the key is accessibility. With information like this available at the user’s fingertips, the Cancer Journeys Foundation hopes to reduce the number of men who are diagnosed with advanced, untreatable prostate cancer.
Like the awareness this generation has placed on breast cancer, Hess is confident that this on-the-fly access will be a great leap forward in the fight for men’s health. “If the future of prostate cancer is going to get brighter, it begins with awareness and early detection. Only then can men patient have the information to beat prostate cancer,” Hess concluded.
