CoolTech Coatings offers a Trio Coating System. Its components are the CoolTech Surface Prep surface cleaner and rust preparation for maximiziing surface adhesion; the CoolTech Seam and Crack Filler for sealing and repairing any cracks, joints, seams, and screws; and the CoolTech Top Coat for providing a high performance reflective finish coat. This Trio Coating System has been designed to work together to prepare and coat the surface for optimum reflectivity and weather resistance.
The roofing insulation is sealed and protected by using the CoolTech Spray Urethane Foam. This sprayable liquid elastomeric system protects the roof from future roof leaks while substantially decreasing energy costs. The highly reflective white color of this elastomeric coating has been found to reflect 85 percent of the solar radiation such that it can reduce energy costs by up to 30%.
The CoolTech Top Coat that is brushed on or sprayed on the urethane foam can reduce roof temperatures by up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit and internal temperatures by 8 to 18 degrees Fahrenheit. This will also dramatically extend the roof life and decrease the aging effects of solar radiation. Because of the elastomeric nature of the Top Coat, it is able to protect the roof from thermal related expansion and damage caused by the wind and weather. A touch up brush coat can be applied later and this will perfectly bond with the previously applied coat.
The CoolTech Spray Urethane Foam can be used to repair and insulate a roof that has been damaged or has deteriorated. This can be sprayed directly over the roofing to streamline the repair process without having to remove and get rid of old roofing materials. This can be sprayed over most types of roofing construction to repair the roof and substantially decrease heating or cooling costs.
The CoolTech Top Coat is then applied over the CoolTech Spray Urethane Foam to protect the latter from solar degradation. This is needed because urethane foams can start degrading from UV exposure after just a number of days after application.
Other CoolTech Coating products include the CoolTech Clear Seal, which is a water white clear sealer that is designed for sealing old concrete, brick, or other ceramic based materials. A pigment can be added to the Clear Seal so that its color will be similar to the color of the brick, concrete, or ceramic material. Another product is the CoolTech Prime Coat, which is a high solids base coat to improve adhesion to difficult substrates like EPDM, aged rubber, rolled-out membranes, and other similar surfaces. There is also the CoolTech Adhesion Enhancer, which is a base coat for preventing bituminous bleed through and improving adhesion to severely damaged or deteriorated roofing structures.
The CoolTech Coatings can be applied: after metal screw tightening and replacement; for coating screw heads; to metal walls and supports with rust and rust stains; on badly damaged metal roofs; on leaky and cracked composite roofs; on metal land-sea containers; on brick structures with aging brick and mortar; and on roofing with HVAC equipment.
