Community Leaders Plan Dinner Market Event In Celebration Of Harvest and Partnership

A business community collaborative led by Renee Delaney of Small Scale Farms plans to host its first ever Harvest Dinner Celebration in hopes of bringing area families and leaders together for an evening of wholesome food and community building.

The Community Connected Autumn Dinner and Market will be held on Saturday, Sept 28, 2019 from 6-9 pm at Holy Trinity Church in Welland. Tickets are $20 per person.

Renee Delaney, the event founder wants to establish a seasonal, inclusive dinner saying, “These dinners will be for everyone. If you cannot afford the ticket price please reach out to us, or if you are able to sponsor tickets for others to be able to attend, please let us know.”

Aside from what promises to be a spectacular dinner prepared by local family farmers and vendor partnerships, there will be market/vendor tables set up around the church with various info and products. There will also be an entire room dedicated to pollinators, with the honey bees themselves making a very special appearance through a observation hive.

Profits from ticket sales will be directed to Holy Trinity's Hygiene Bank and organizers are also encouraging attendees to bring contributions of: Shampoo, deodarant, pads, soaps, toothpaste, cleaning supplies, and used clothing and textiles etc.

This dinner is the official launch of FEED A FAMILY, a meal sponsorship initiative designed to leverage community partnerships which can enhance food security within the region.
