On December 1, 2017, local resident Karen Jones was driving through a Fort Lauderdale intersection when another driver failed to yield when making a left turn. The other driver T-boned Jones’ vehicle, resulting in severe pain that required surgery.

Jones was awarded $200,000 in an out-of-court settlement for her injuries on June 28, 2018, to compensate for her medical procedures, pain and suffering, lost wages, and more.
