Birmingham, Ala. - A new Alabama law, aimed to regulate and educate bail bondsmen in Birmingham and Fugitive recovery agents, was signed into law this summer.
The new law creates a Professional Bail Bond Board to regulate the licenses. This board is expected to implement training classes, require yearly training, and give out penalties, if necessary.
"We are very excited about this bill. Is been a long time coming. for years we have had people coming into our industry that had no knowledge of the bail bond industry, this legislation will change that," Ruby Collard, owner of Alabama Bail Bond says
Alabama Bail Bonds, a local company offering bail bonds in Birmingham, worked closely with The Alabama Bail Bond Association and Representative Chris England to help push the legislation.
Jennifer Collard, of Alabama Bail Bonds, attended the bill signing and was joined by, Rep. Chris England, as well as the President and Vice President of the Alabama Bail Bond Association.
