Barbara Witherite Photography, a Dallas, Texas based professional photography service, is pleased to announce that they now offer headshot services in addition to their long list of other photography services.
With a team of highly qualified and experienced professionals, the company has established themselves as a photography enthusiast that covers Dallas and its surrounding regions. Their team uses advanced photography techniques, bringing the most cutting-edge industry grade equipment to bear in every engagement.
“There is an art to capturing the perfect picture. And the very first aspect of it is to have a thorough understanding of the assignment before you ever click the shutter for the first time! Taking photos of a wedding, for example, is a task that is very different from taking a few headshots. Similarly, you can’t use the same techniques to capture a sports event as you would a professional team photo. This understanding is what gives my work an extra edge and a step up from other professional photographers,” says Barbara Witherite, head photographer and representative of the company.
The Dallas-based photographer has built a successful career in photographing a wide variety of subjects over the past 11 years. As a natural creative artist, Witherite says she initially set out to follow her Graphic Design passion, but decided to move onto photography instead after some experimenting. Over the course of her career, Barbara has covered hundreds of events and proceedings from behind her lens. Her specialities include: wedding photography, business events photography, and photographing sporting teams and sports events. She also covers a variety of special events that include fairs, conventions, concerts, pageants, school functions, entertainment awards, and much more.
She says, “Whenever I get a job, I always make sure that every shot is well rehearsed in my mind. I want to make sure that my team and I understand exactly what you need to capture. Each click, every angle, and every exposure is carefully considered and planned, almost like clockwork. I also share my insights with my clients, make suggestions to ensure that they can create lasting memories instead of just tacky poses for the camera. I often like to say to my team ‘We’re capturing memories for our clients—not just trapping actions. Let's be effective and make every click count!’ That’s a truth that I will always stand by.”
Throughout her career, Witherite has championed the “effective” photography approach. “Whether it is a group photo of a business team at an awards ceremony, a snapshot of a child and her faithful puppy, or a picture of the bride and groom as they share their first kiss in front of friends and family,” she explains, “My emphasis has always been to focus on the broader things, and not on a single event.” Whenever her team starts a new assignment, their first task is to collect as much information as possible about the people and the event being photographed.
As she states on her website, she considers questions like: Who are the people being photographed? What is the significance of the event or occasion for them? Why do they wish these moments captured on film? What parts of an event or proceeding do they consider the most important? Why have they chosen the venue; does it have symbolic value for the event?
Witherite explains, “When I ask these important questions and get the answers for them, I am able to create a comprehensive profile of how I can approach the subject in my mind’s eye. This allows me to lay down the groundwork to take effective photographs that will create a deeper meaning, Not just for the client, either, but to all who view my work.”
“I also take photos of kids and pets,” she adds. “Not many photographers have the knack to handle kids or pets, considering how hard it can be to control them, to make sure that they are photographed well. But I’ve developed a talent, or rather, I’ve developed the tremendous patience required for it. If you want pictures taken of your kids or your pets or your kids and your pets, my team and I are here for you!”
