The San Diego Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) is encouragingregistrations for the upcoming Navy Gold Coast Event, a government contracting & small business event for those wishing to conduct business with federal, state & local government entities as well as large businesses. The event will be held on August 25 and 26, 2015 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Chris Parkes, Navy Gold Coast publicity chair, states “The National Defense Industrial Association is proud to host the 27th annual Navy Gold Coast Small Business Procurement Event. We have high hopes for this year's conference with more than 1200 attendees, a number of motivating and informative speakers and 150+ exhibitors.”
Those speakers include US Rep Duncan Hunter; US SBA Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet; Mr. Frank Kendall, Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology & Logistics; and, Ms. Patricia Obey, Acting Director of the Navy Office of Small Business Programs.
The purpose of the Navy Gold Coast Event is to offer education, guidance, and assistance to small businesses in working with the government, or more specifically working with the U.S. Navy.
The NDIA San Diego Chapter works to uphold the vision and mission of its national parent organization, focusing on bringing together the city and county of San Diego, California with the defense community. The organization strives to advocate new technologies, and promote a national security team comprised of government and industrial partners. They also work to provide a legal and ethical forum where small businesses and the government can exchange information regarding National Security issues.
A spokesperson for the NDIA said of the upcoming event, "Everyone who can should plan on attending. It will be an exciting conference with a lot of relevant information and breakout sessions. We will have plenty of opportunities for networking."
