Atlanta, Georgia -- Tangu Inc in Atlanta Georgia has just released a new article that talks about Sober and family-friendly events for NYE for 2020 ball drop. Atlanta’s Peach Drop has been the go-to event for celebrating the New Year’s Eve for at least three decades. But now that the event is on hiatus, partygoers are looking for alternative ways to celebrate the start of the new year.
2020 not only marks a new year; it also marks the start of a new decade. Tangu Inc, Atlanta’s premier addiction treatment center, suggests finding alternatives that are safe, healthy, and sober. Although New Year’s Eve is typically considered a happy occasion, many people find it stressful. Some even think of it as a threat to their sobriety because of all the indulgent behavior that comes with parties and all the social gatherings and reunions that take place during this time.
And with the annual Peach Drop event on hiatus, a reliable New Year’s Eve activity is gone for the time being. People in recovery need to find enjoyable activities to distract them from all the triggers and temptations all around them during the New Year’s Eve celebration.
Tangu Inc recommends the more traditional celebrations that are plentiful in metro Atlanta. Needless to say, there are several venues hosting New Year’s Eve celebrations and many of them do not have alcohol. People in recovery will want to inform their family members and other loved ones of their sober status so that they can receive the proper support they need, even when the celebrations are in full swing.
For those who have young children, a visit in the Children’s Museum of Atlanta can be a fun and interesting way to spend the new year. It is also bound to be an educational trip.
Another good choice is the Legoland Discovery Center at Phipps Plaza in Buckhead, which the kids will certainly enjoy.
In downtown Atlanta, the Westin Peachtree Plaza will host a New Year’s Eve bash 73 stories above street level—perfect for an unusual and exciting celebration.
In Cobb County, the Battery Atlanta is a great place to spend the New Year’s. The New Year’s Eve bash is free and open to the public, but there is also a ticketed, all-inclusive bash that will be hosted by Live! At The Battery, which will offer food, beverages, live entertainment, and more.
In the city’s Eastside, Ponce City Market will also be hosting an all-inclusive party. East Atlanta Village is hosting a family-friendly neighborhood block party, complete with fireworks, live bands and a Midnight Rooster Drop.
The Peach Drop is not gone for good. Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said that the city will reexamine the location and the planning for when the event returns. She said that when the Peach Drop does return, it will be even bigger and better than ever.
Thankfully, Atlanta offers many great alternatives that should make the New Year’s Eve celebration stress-free, fun, and enjoyable, even for those who are in recovery.
