Scottsdale Golf Club Debuts New Nine-Hole Course This Winter

The Country Club at DC Ranch, a golf club based in Scottsdale, Arizona, has announced that they have debuted their new nine-hole, short course. This short golf course has been named The Horseshoe, to continue with the club’s brand. This course has nine holes, ranging from 54 to 104 yards, and it was designed by Greey/Pickett. They want to point out that this nine-hole course is suitable for a fun, relaxing, and quick round of golf, and it is ideal for beginner golfers, family golf, wine and dines, lessons, Juniors, and Seniors.

Melanie Halpert, Director of Membership at The Country Club at DC Ranch, says, “We have debuted this new nine-hole course because making golf more approachable is key. Members are busier than ever and want an opportunity to play even if they do not have four hours to commit. This is a perfect fit. Also, those golfers new to the sport, may be intimidated to play a traditional course. The short course will allow for a fun opportunity to learn and enjoy the game. The Horseshoe features the same tif eagle Bermuda grass putting surface greens like the one used for the main course. Fronting these 9 greens, are sand bunkers for a similar look that members would experience on a traditional golf course.”

The Scottsdale golf club has also made other additions to the Practice Park. These include an increased practice tee space; an 8,500 square foot practice putting green; and a bigger short game area with greenside bunkers and two chipping greens. This improved practice area provides members with a lot of opportunities and space for improving their game.

The Country Club at DC Ranch has also introduced the Gold Tees to its membership. These new golf tees play to a yardage of 3,969 yards, which is about 3,000 yards shorter compared to that of the black tees, and is 1,100 yards shorter than that of the red tees. The Gold Tee is suitable for players of all ages and ability levels. The Gold Tee Box provides members the chance to play and get on the green in regulation more frequently. For men, the Gold Tee is rated at 60.5 with a slope of 98, and for women, it is rated at 61.6 and a slope of 100.

Of course, The Country Club at DC Ranch also has a regular 18-hole golf course that is strategically situated on a knoll that is near the McDowell Mountains. Thus, golf players are able to enjoy the beautiful views from all 18 holes.
