HVS- Sloan Proudly Welcomes New Mascot to Their Team

The video production company has a long history of mascots in its San Diego office.

HVS- Sloan Communications has recently welcomed Nina, a 10-year-old copper-colored Golden Retriever. Nina, a senior canine, recently stayed at San Diego Humane Society awaiting adoption after two previous families relinquished her due to moves.

HVS- Sloan is a full-service video production company with over 35 years of experience in helping clients produce branded content, commercials, live events, features and corporate communications, and educational content. They are one of the nation’s leading suppliers of professional camera crews and photographic expertise. HVS-Sloan is a four-time National Emmy award-winning video production company that works in San Diego, Orange, and Los Angeles Counties.

According to the Society of Human Resource Management, 8 percent of the workplaces in the U.S. allow dogs to join in the office. HVS Sloan joins Amazon’s Seattle headquarters as one of the company’s that allows dogs with its dog-friendly work policy. Numerous studies have shown dogs provide social support for employees, reducing stress. The office dog brings a sense of community to employees and acts as an ice breaker for clients.

HVS- Sloan has had a canine mascot since 2008, beginning with Abby, a Golden Retriever until her passing in October 2016. Winnie followed in November 2017 until her passing in May 2019.

“Nina is an incredibly loving dog and can now be found curled up under the edit bay,” says Bob Shroder, President and Director of Post Production at HVS- Sloan Communications. “She also loves to go up to people and wait for belly rubs.” Shroder also says that Nina has been so easy going with all the people she meets, that she is now training to be a therapy dog. As a trainee, Nina has already visited a senior rehabilitation facility, an adult day care center, and patients at a local VA.

Founded in 1979, HVS-Sloan Productions crews have traveled the world capturing images for television networks, public broadcasting, major corporations as well as independent producers and directors.
