The bill allows the board to send regulations or informational orders that would require a distributor of public water to submit information about water use, water production and conservation. Once any ordinance has been posted and made public, any violation of the water conservation program is a misdemeanor, which means anyone convicted can be punished by being put in jail for no more than 30 days and/or they can be fined $1,000.
