Dr. Kamran Raja was born in Northern Virginia, and he graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Biology. He went to the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine and earned his DMD in 2003. Dr. Raja published numerous research articles while working at the National Institutes of Dental and Craniofacial Research, later completing a six-year oral and maxillofacial surgical residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center and the prestigious R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center (earning his MD in 2006 and completing his residency in 2009). During this period, he also completed one year of general surgery, including training in plastic and reconstructive surgery, pediatric surgery and adult and pediatric anesthesia. He has, over the past decade, worked in private practice while also training residents in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He has also been inducted into the FACS, the prestigious Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

As Dr. Raja believes quite strongly in ongoing education and research, he regularly attends both local and international meetings in order to stay at the forefront of his profession. This in turn allows him to deliver the latest research and advancements in oral surgery to his patients.
