Inkwell Designers® Joins the Fight Against COVID-19

The Atlanta, GA-based event artist agency, Inkwell Designers®, has announced that they are joining the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. Inkwell Designers is doing what they can to contribute to the cause by producing medical mask hooks to help the frontline workers in hospitals and the local medical community operate with increased safety and comfort.

Elaborating on her decision, the CEO of Inkwell Designers, Desiree Colonna, said, “When the business community shut down, we panicked because all of our events completely stopped. I was determined to find a way to make the best use of our time. This idea came from our engraving community and I was able to build a better mousetrap by using flexible materials. So far, we've had a great response from our healthcare professionals using these mask hooks on a daily basis and already wanting more. We are so grateful we could help in some, small way.”

While typically used for event activation services, creating personalized gifts, and more, Inkwell Designers has redirected their laser to create medical mask hooks out of a flexible acrylic. According to Colonna, the material used, Lucent Translucent acrylic from Johnsons Plastics, is noteworthy because many similar medical mask hooks are made of a rigid acrylic which is less durable and less comfortable.

Medical mask hooks are used by medical practitioners and frontline workers to keep face masks tight around their faces and prevent any long-term pain or soreness from prolonged wearing and adjustment of the ear loops. For those interested in purchasing a medical mask hook for personal use, they are available on the Inkwell Designers online store and all proceeds will go towards buying more materials so more mask hooks can be made and donated to the local medical community.
