Hollywood Connection will provide free access to content during the stay at home order.
Los Angeles, CA - Hollywood Connection, a Los Angeles dance competition company, is providing free online content for their studios and attendees. With its start 17 years ago, Hollywood Connection travels across the United States, organizing dance competitions and conventions as a way to teach, train, and educate dance studio teachers, owners, and their students.
When California’s stay at home order went into effect on March 19, 2020, Hollywood Connection was about halfway into their dance competition season. They quickly postponed all the remaining regional conventions and competitions as required by the executive order for the safety of the studios, dancers, and all involved.
Since postponing all dance competitions and conventions, Hollywood Connection has strived to stay connected with the teachers, studio owners, and dancers using social media. As a company that brought dance conventions to cities across the country, they took an active role in encouraging dance studios, dancers, and teachers to keep dancing and learning until the stay at home order is lifted. In a short amount of time, nearly every dance studio moved to some digital online classes and distance learning. Reaching out using their social media platforms, they are making their dance videos accessible to be downloaded and used on other people’s platforms. Plans are also in place for live interviews to be conducted with their faculty.
“Our philosophy is to guide students out of their comfort zone technically, creatively and emotionally, and encourage them to reach their true potential,” states Kimberly Rhinelander, Co-founder and Co-Executive Director of Hollywood Connection. “This stay at home order is a lesson in hard work, dedication, resiliency, and perseverance; all qualities dancers need in the pursuit of technique and a dance career.”
Hollywood Connection is run by Bill Bohl and Kimberly Rhinelander with a mission to bring back passion into convention classes, educate dancers on the commercial dance industry, and help guide dancers to a successful career in the professional world of dance.
