Greene County, Ala.- Among the pandemic there is one group trying to help those in jail, but not able to afford bail. A local group of citizens and activists have been working to raise money for those who cannot afford bail. Alabama Bail Bonds, a bail bondsman in Greene County, AL, is proud to highlight this movement. The money raised helps make those who have not been convicted of a crime, but are in jail awaiting trial, make bail. So far, the group has been able to help two people get released.
Helping these people make bail is huge to both them and their families. Jails and prisons are not the ideal place to be during the coronavirus (COVID-19) as the confined spaces can cause a rapid spread. To date, the group has raised $13,000 to help those in jail awaiting trial. The group is calling themselves “The Montgomery Bail Out” and is working diligently to help those who are convicted of very low-level crimes.
While no inmates in Montgomery County jails have tested positive yet, the group is highly considered. If COVID-19 were to hit the jail, it is very likely that everyone within the jail could end up contracting the virus. Recently, bail laws have been called into question, and COVID-19 is sure to heighten the argument.
For anyone needing bail bonds during this scary time, Alabama Bail Bonds is here is to help with Alabama bonding in Greene County, AL.
