Greene County, Ala.- Among the pandemic there is one group trying to help those in jail, but not able to afford bail. A local group of citizens and activists have been working to raise money for those who cannot afford bail. The money raised helps make those who have not been convicted of a crime, but are in jail awaiting trial, make bail. So far, the group has been able to help two people get released.
Helping these people make bail is huge to both them and their families. If COVID-19 were to hit the jail, it is very likely that everyone within the jail could end up contracting the virus.
