Futurepace Tech LLC, based in Valley Cottage, NY, has presented new information to highlight the importance of children staying hydrated not only while outside playing but also in the classroom. The company draws particular attention to the Crunch and Sip fact sheet on the use of water bottles in the classroom.

"Too many schools and educators have made excuses as to why their pupils should not have water bottles in the classroom," says Robyn Everingham from Futurepace Tech LLC. "They worry about spillages, think the kids will play with the bottles, and more. However, hydration is vital to good health, especially for young children. The concerns can be overcome with proper education about appropriate use of water bottles in the classroom. With monitoring, children can use their bottles only for their intended purpose, which is for drinking water to stay hydrated."

Futurepace Tech LLC wants to point out that their insulated stainless steel water bottles can be of great benefit in the classroom. The water remains cold all day and because of the insulating qualities of the bottle no condensation forms to soak their desks or work. However, the company is also fully committed to the safety of children. This means that the company promotes adequate hydration, while also considering the physical safety of children. This came about following a recent news report on Today News which highlighted some potential dangers of metal water bottles. Other news outlets have made similar reports, discussing how some children have had to have surgery in order to have metal water bottles removed from their tongues. Some children do not know how to use a hard glass or metal bottle to drink from and may be tempted to put their tongue into the bottle to try to get the last drops of their drink which may lead to incidents as reported.

"Children must learn how to drink properly from a bottle," explains Robyn Everingham. "Parents need to make sure that they show their children the technique for how to drink directly from a bottle without a straw. Even though they may never give their children bottles in this way to drink from, the child should know not to put their tongue into any bottle. While drinking from plastic bottles which will collapse and easily be cut off if the child gets into trouble are different from hard metal or glass bottles which may cause more severe problems as outlined in the news report, a child needs to be shown this skill in the event they are offered drinks in bottles.

Parents need to not only give their young children bottles with straws, sports or sippy lids as most currently do, they should also teach their children to correctly drink from a bottle as well as advising them to pour a drink from the glass or metal container into a cup before drinking."

For Futurepace Tech LLC, therefore, the focus has been on developing a BPA free stainless steel water bottle that enables children to stay hydrated while not making a mess on the child's desk, and while making sure that younger children are safe while doing so.
