Santa Clara, California based TraderMob has announced the launch of a fully functional real-time stocks and options trading platform. This platform will enable users to enter into trading contests and track their performance with real live data from various markets. Mike Karmindro, Co-founder of TraderMob released a comment about the launch. He said, "We've created the ultimate real-time trading engine to practice options trading."
The leaderboard will keep track of every trade, and then automatically apply trading rules including commissions and margins. It can be used to track winners for contests and their performance. The company also announced the launch of TraderMob discussion forum on stocks and options.
"This fully simulated, social environment will help anyone who wants to learn the ins and outs of trading, and they can compete in our fantasy trading contests to gain reputation and win fabulous prizes," states Mike Karmindro. The company announced that they will offer new contests and prizes every week. TraderMob is completely free to join and offers a live trade feed that users can view to get an idea of how others are doing.
The contest site uses live data from real, everyday markets, for each day that the markets are open. Users are granted a starting balance of $50,000 in virtual money at the beginning of each contest, and they trade with the balance that they have on hand. Contest winners are chosen at the end of every week. The top three traders, those with the best overall performance, are declared as winners. Users must make no less than three trades during the contest week in order to be eligible, and stock trades are separate from the options trades. There are also margin requirements that must be met, which can be seen on the website.
The company states that participating in contests is not required. Users can utilize the full benefit of learning to trade by watching the contests, and then creating and managing their private Portfolios. Access to past contest performance is also available.
"It's all about learning to trade without risking any money. The biggest problem facing traders and investors, especially younger traders is that they lose a lot of money while learning to trade," explains co-founder Hari Swaminathan.
