September 10, 2015 - PRESSADVANTAGE -
The Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council, based in Navarre, FL, is proud to announce the launch of the 2015 Beaches to Woodlands Tour. The tour will highlight all of the most impressive attractions at Navarre Beach, the Blackwater River State Forest, and Milton, Florida. The tour will last for several weeks, featuring noteworthy sites in the Santa Rosa County area.
"Santa Rosa County is a wonderful part of our country and we want to encourage everyone to come and visit us," says Julie Morgan from the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council. "This year's Beaches to Woodlands tour will cover historic Milton, Florida, and the Blackwater River State Forest. A number of different activities will be organized around these sites and more, and they will provide fun and education for the entire family."
All along the Gulf Coast, the Beaches to Woodlands Tour has become a synonym of the arriving fall season. The tour itself is completely self-guided and will include over thirty different events. These include things such as eco-education, 'fun on the farm,’ historical re-enactments, lectures, festivals, active events, culture and arts, marine life and more. The highlight of the Tour is the annual migration of the Monarch butterflies, which should be on everyone's bucket list. These are just some of the Navarre Beach attractions that people will be able to enjoy.
"Traditionally, the tour has been held during weekends in October but some of our big agritourism events always spread from late September into early November," adds Karen Harrell, the tour's coordinator for the past seven years. "When the weather gets cooler people are ready to get outdoors and back to nature and we serve up many opportunities to do just that."
The area is also affectionately known as 'Florida's playground,' due to the phenomenal number of attractions that are available. There is guaranteed to be something to please even the most eclectic of tastes. There are opportunities for sports, family fun, dining, and more. It is expected that this year's Tour will attract even more visitors than usual, providing support for the local economy and educating people about the beauty and history of the Florida panhandle.
