Peace Out Prostate Cancer, an Arizona 501 (c)(3) non-profit, is sponsoring a free prostate cancer screening program on from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. September 12th at Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale, the world’s largest Harley-Davison dealership as part of National Prostate Cancer Awareness month.
Men can schedule a free screen by calling Shelley at 480-213-1920 or by email at smartin@hdofscottsdale.com.
Prostate cancer is the most common male cancer in the United States, with 2.8 million prostate cancer survivors living in the US today and 240,000 more men receiving a prostate cancer diagnosis each year. More than 1.2 million American men have died from prostate cancer since President Richard M. Nixon declared the War on Cancer in 1971.
Ms. Shelley Martin, Peace Out Prostate Cancer’s founder, developed the program in honor or her father and grandfather, both of whom died of prostate cancer. Shelley has been an active breast cancer and prostate cancer advocate and fundraiser for the past decade.
Men taking the test will be able to create a free prostate cancer early detection system using the ProstateCancerTracker Internet early warning system developed and operated by the Prostate Cancer Awareness Project of Manhattan Beach, California.
“Prostate cancer kills 30,000 men every year because they don’t know they have the disease early enough for successful treatment. Shelley Martin and Peace Out Prostate Cancer are playing an important role in helping Arizona men find their prostate cancer early and we are thrilled to be working with Shelley and her team,” said Robert Hess, Prostate Cancer Awareness Project founder and CEO.
