Eugene, OR - Serenity Lane, a network of addiction treatment centers with locations across Oregon, has begun offering remote outpatient substance use treatment programming. This new program is called RecoveryNOW and is the latest stride in the trend towards telehealth options in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
As the virus continues to wreak havoc on many industries that require in-person participation, businesses that are able to have shifted to a remote model of operation. This is an important step in the effort to limit person-to-person contact and the spread of COVID-19.
Serenity Lane’s RecoveryNOW virtual addiction treatment program was created to provide the same experience as their intensive outpatient and level 1 outpatient programming via the Zoom teleconferencing platform. This includes both group meetings and individual meetings with licensed addiction specialists. Participants in the intensive outpatient program meet three times a week for three hours in a group therapy setting with individual sessions on an “as-needed” basis. Level 1 outpatient participants will meet once per week as a group and once per week with a counselor.
This specialized programming was created in order to help individuals identify issues that have been caused by their substance use as well as identify goals that they’d like to achieve while in recovery.
RecoveryNOW also places an emphasis on education while in recovery. The remote educational series examines a wide range of topics including: history of substance use disorder, physiological and psychological effects of alcohol and other drugs, addiction as a disease, understanding relapse, development of relapse prevention plan, recovery coping tools, the effects of addiction on the family, stress reduction, anger, denial, and wellness/nutrition.
Serenity Lane’s President and CEO, Pete Kerns, released a statement when the new telehealth platform was introduced earlier this year.
“Serenity Lane has a special responsibility for the well-being of patients, and as CEO, am also responsible for staff and volunteers,” Kerns stated. “Serenity Lane takes seriously the trust placed in it to provide treatment during these times.”
Serenity Lane offers a full continuum of treatment options for people suffering from substance use disorders, from detox to telehealth programs and extended residential options. Call Serenity Lane today at 800-543-9905 to learn more about treatment options.
