According to the site, “Gonorrhea refers to an STD resulting from the bacterium called Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Gonorrhea spreads through sexual activity such as vaginal sex, anal sex, and oral sex. According to the CDC there are over 800,000 infection cases of gonorrhea in the US every year.”
On how gonorrhea is spread, they said, “You can get gonorrhea through unprotected vaginal sex, oral sex, and anal sex with a person who has the infection. Gonorrhea transmission can occur during sexual intercourse even without an ejaculation. The infection can also be from mother to baby during the process of vaginal childbirth. Normally, gonorrhea will not show any symptoms in men or in women. This means that it is possible to have the infection and not know. When the symptoms appear, in men they include painful urination, itching, and an unusual discharge from the penis. In women, the symptoms include fever, painful urination, unusual vaginal discharge, stomach pain, and vomiting.”
The company said that it is approved and added that, “We have test centers that use the FDA-cleared Nucleic Acid Amplification test or NAA. This test is recommended by the CDC and is included in our comprehensive STD test that also tests for Chlamydia. This test involves a urine sample that is screened for the gonorrhea bacterium.”
