Face Services Body Repair Company Report Large Increase Of Damaged Cars In Carparks Throughout Glasgow

Face Services, based in Bellshill, Glasgow, has reported an alarming rise in the number cars they are having to repair due to careless drivers damaging parked cars.

Face Services has been repairing car bodywork since 2007 and have seen a marked increase over the last 12 months in the amount of calls they receive for cars that have been damaged while the vehicle has been parked.

A company spokesman said, “The majority of calls we get are from drivers that have returned to their vehicles after shopping and notice the damage, usually there is no note or indication on who has caused the damage and the driver is left to get the scuff or dent fixed at their own cost.”

He went on to say, “Generally the damage has been caused by another drivers carelessness, such as banging the door against paintwork, scratching the paintwork as they pass the car with bags and even scraped and scuffed bumpers where another car has tried to park and hit the vechile.”

The reported rise also includes drivers who have managed to damage their own vehicle and damaged the sills on high curbs or hit a bollard or tree whilst parking. But Face Services have also noted an increase in vandal damage.

The spokeman said, “The type of damage we are seeing is where a car has been keyed. It is usually kids that are bored and hang around were they mess about and this can cause some seriously deep scratches. They can be repaired but it is unfair to the drivers.”
