Heber City, UT - New Perspectives has joined the call to provide neurodiversity support services for young adults in Utah. Neurodiverse children are those whose learning differences range from ADHD, high functioning autism, anxiety, traumatic brain injury, dyslexia, dysgraphia, trauma to depression.
New Perspectives is a highly recognized and effective community-based program supporting neurodiverse young adults in their goals of integrating into a life of independence.
Their Program for Neurodiverse Young Adults in Utah veers away with the traditional formula. The New Perspectives employs a motivational approach based on current research and best practices in their programs. Instead of isolating neurodiverse young adults from real-life situations and experiences, they immerse them in the local community. They help reduce barriers for young adults to help them enjoy independent living.
"Our approach seeks to help young adults feel engaged in living real life, starting on day one," the New Perspectives program founders Justin and Janet Robinsons.
The Robinsons' unique life experiences have shaped an approach based on experience, successes, and multiple perspectives. They also gained lessons from their unusual amount of experience as parents of neurodiverse children. It has forged them into strong advocates for the needs and rights of each learner.
These experiences of the Robinsons have given them a personal understanding of the challenges and complexities that arise in preparing and launching neurodiverse young adults. As parents, they learned that while one technique motivates and inspires one child, the same approach can antagonize and demotivate another.
It is why instead of a formulaic, cookie-cutter program schedule for the children they cater to, they highlight the individual needs of everyone. "Matching students' needs to the optimal amount of support and structure are crucial to creating an environment where young adults thrive," the company states.
Likewise, New Perspectives allows students to have a choice. The Support For Neurodiverse Young Adults in Utah also veers away with the traditional "in-office" counseling sessions. The New Perspectives team provides in-the-moment coaching and support in more natural environments.
"We incorporate a customized and individual coaching approach through personalized and socialized engagement for each client," the company adds.
The New Perspectives team offers several programs for neurodiverse young adults. They provide life coaching, peer mentor, social and recreation monitoring, employment and career, recreation, and residential monitoring.
