Jessup Plumber Highlights Requested Changes for the National Standard Plumbing Code

Jessup, MD. - As part of its efforts to facilitate updating the National Standard Plumbing Code (NSPC), The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, or IAPMO NSPC Committee has asked for proposed changes to the 2021 NSPC from those within the plumbing industry, no later than March 1, 2022. According to the local Jessup plumber, the proposals approved by the technical committee will be presented in the NSPC 2024.

Beginning in 1933, a complete NSPC code has been published every three years after an official annual review. Those interested in submitting proposed updates can visit www.iapmo.org/nspc for a copy of the code change form and further instructions. Electronic submission of all proposed changes is required. Any proposed code change that references a standard must be accompanied by a copy of the standard. There will be no proposals accepted after March 1, 2022, at 5 pm EST. The IAPMO strongly encourages members and other interested parties in the plumbing industry to partake in code development. By providing a modern code for plumbing systems, the NSPC provides local and state governments, code administrative bodies, and the industry with a way to protect public health, safety, and welfare.
