The Transit is Ford's 21st century answer to its former industry-leading E-series Econoline van, which dates back to the early 1960s. The Econoline van has been America's best-selling van for 35 years and the Transit is poised to carry on that tradition. Just like its predecessor the E-Series, the Transit has few rivals.

In fact, Ford Transit became the best-selling van in the United States only six months after its release for sale.

The Ford Transit Wagon is ideal for businesses and large families that need more passenger and cargo space. The Transit is designed for capability and flexibility with features found only in the luxury-model Mercedes Benz Sprinter vans.

The Ford Transit offers versatility that few vehicles can match. It comes in three body lengths (regular, long, long extended), three roof heights (low, medium, high) and two wheelbase lengths. High-roof models can accommodate a standing adult up to 6 feet, 4 inches. The Transit is also more fuel-efficient than the older E series vans, with approximately 20 percent better gas mileage.
