Wounded Warrior Home Remodeling Project In Phoenix Nears Completion

Peak One Builders & Restoration, a business in Scottsdale, AZ are proud to announce that they are nearing completion on one special project. The handicap home remodeling in Phoenix project that will be unveiled is the home of Sergeant John Ricketts. It was organized by the Jared Allen's Homes For Wounded Warriors program.

"This home in the Desert Ridge community was originally built to suit a single family," says Michael Christensen from Peak One Builders & Restoration. "Jared Allen's Homes For Wounded Warriors purchased this home in 2014 and called upon us at Peak One Builders to transform this home into a fully usable home for a very special Army Sergeant."

Significant work had to be completed on the home remodeling. Each door had to be widened to enable wheelchair access and the bathroom had to be changed to be accessible as well. Furthermore, ramps had to be installed in the various doors. The laundry room was reconfigured, new tiles were installed as well as recessed LED lighting, new kitchen features and appliances and more, all to be wheelchair user friendly.

"We wanted to make sure that the home was fitted to enable Sergeant John Ricketts to live a normal, productive life," adds Michael Christensen. "We also laid an epoxy floor in the garage and installed extra storage and a workbench, thereby ensuring the Sergeant could engage in hobbies as well. Plus, we fitted the home with very large and spacious master shower, a new HVAC unit and a tankless hot water heater to ensure overall comfort as well."

Each part of the home was designed with the needs of Sergeant John Ricketts in mind, working together with interior designers. This includes the overall decor items, which we made to suit the sergeant's personal tastes and likes. When the home will be unveiled, everyone will be able to see just how much it has been transformed. This was achieved through the work of a fantastic team of experts and volunteers who wanted to say thank you to a remarkable man.
