November 11, 2015 - PRESSADVANTAGE -
Palmate Gardening, a business in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, are proud to announce that their protective knee pads have been voted best in its category by a professional gardening organization. The organization reviewed a number of different knee pads and found these to be the most comfortable and ergonomic, thereby protecting the user from injury. The business is very proud to have been recognized in this manner.
"We wanted to create a product that was affordable enough for the domestic market, but good enough for professional gardeners as well," says Pete Bowes from Palmate Gardening. "To have it officially recognized that we have fully achieved those goals is fantastic. The gardening organization is really respected in the industry and it is a true honor to even be considered by them, let alone win anything."
The knee pads are made of a sports grade neoprene, which is both sweat and water resistant. The material is the same as the one used in wet and dry suits. Because of this, they are also easy to clean and store, something that is very important in the gardening industry. "People often don't know the dangers associated with gardening," says Dr. Peter Simpson, specialist in parasitic infections. "Parasites can be carried by lots of things that people come into contact with, including animal excrement, slugs and snail and various insects. Gardening tools that have bodily contact should always be cleaned properly to avoid contamination."
One of the things that made the Palmate Gardeing knee pads stand out for the professional gardening organization, however, was that it comes with adjustable knee straps. Rather than being a one size fits all knee pad that is worn as a sock, these knee pads look more like knee supports used in physiotherapy, as they can be fitted to actually suit the size of the individual.
"When you buy knee pads from us, you get more than just protection from pressure on your knee," adds Pete Bowes. "Thanks to the straps, your movement is also protected, which means that you are at less risk of muscular or joint damage, including arthritis."
